New Benchmarking Cluster Pilot Project

Following discussions with a number of universities a new cluster of HEIs have agreed to take part in a Benchmarking Pilot Project.

The universities will exchange financial data using the Benchmarking in HE software. It is expected that data will be input to the software by the end of March 2012 and this will enable the HEIs participating in the Pilot cluster to produce benchmarking reports and assess their financial profile. The universities include:

  • University of Huddersfield
  • Northumbria University
  • Sheffield Hallam University
  • University of Sunderland
  • University of Teesside

The Benchmarking in HE project will continue to identify possible new clusters of HEIs to undertake benchmarking.

If your university is interested in benchmarking please contact Andrew Young ayoung@aspectmanagement.co.uk to the discuss the project in more detail.

New Higher Education benchmarking site launched

A new benchmarking site has been launched for the Higher Education sector. The site www.benchmarkinginHE.co.uk is designed to provide a one stop portal to benchmarking information and activities across the sector. The site's development has been part funded by HEFCE.

Andrew Young is the Project Manager for the site and related benchmarking initiatives. He said, 'We hope that managers in HE will find the site useful at a time when business benchmarking is of great interest in the HE sector.

"Many universities are looking for benchmarking data which they can use to compare the cost of running their services and operations."

The next phase of benchmarking development will see a benchmarking database, BenchmarkerHE, upgraded and promoted for use across the HE sector.
